The Baltimore Fire Department is trying to recruit more women to its ranks. One of its programs, Camp Spark, invites girls to learn what firefighting is all about, and applications are due soon. The department hopes future recruit classes will be made up of more women, which is why it started the camp just for girls two years ago. Camp Spark runs June 29 and 30 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Campers will get hands-on experience learning about careers in firefighting.
